Project 0 – Basic movements

Learn to control and program MIBO robot.  When you push A or B button on micro:bit board, it will move forward or backward.

DIFFICULTY LEVEL:  Beginner.

DURATION OF EXERCISE: 30 minutes

MATERIALS

  • 1 MIBO
  • 3 AAA cells
  • 1 wire USB – micro USB
  • Computer

PROGRAM CODE

To program the MIBO use the micro:bit web programming platform, named Makecode.

Create a new project and write the code, with the help of the steps indicated in the following video.

Next you have the programming code in Makecode. You can access to download or edit. If you cannot access, click here.

Once the project has been downloaded to your computer, with the “.hex” format, copy it to the micro:bit in the same way you copy a file to a USB stick.

  • On windows, you can right-click on the downloaded “.hex” file, and select “Send to → MICROBIT”.
  • On Mac, you can drag and drop the downloaded “.hex” file into the MICROBIT drive.
