PROJECT 7 – REMOTE CONTROLLED MIBO

Learn to program the MIBO and a second micro:bit, so you will be able to drive your MiBO robot moving the second micro: bit

DIFICULTY LEVEL:  Intermediate.

EXERCISE DURATION: 60 minutes.

MATERIALS

MIBO ASSEMBLY

Use the following video as a mounting guide for the MIBO. If you already have it mounted, you can skip this step and go directly to the extension assembly.

PROGRAM CODE

To program the MIBO use the micro: bit Makecode web programming platform

Create a new project and write the code following steps in next video

EMITTER CODE (micro:bit board)

You need to code the micro:bit, from our Starter kit BBC, so it will move Mibo forward, rear, left and rightp just tilting the micro:bit board. Also pushing A button you will start Mibo movement, and stop with B button.

RECEIVER CODE (MIBO robot)

Program the MIBO to start, move in all directions and stop, with the movement of another micro:bit board, via radio frequency.

Once the project has been downloaded to your computer, with the “.hex” format, copy it to the micro: bit in the same way you usually copy a file to a USB stick.

  • In windows, you can right-click on the downloaded “.hex” file, and select “Send to → MICROBIT”.
  • On Mac, you can drag and drop the downloaded “.hex” file into the MICROBIT drive.
